African Queen

Hi Everyone,
I'm so excited today. My collage picture, African Queen, was chosen as "Featured Artwork of the Day" on Millande's art network.
I did this piece a couple of years ago and decided to post it on Millande's network...I;m glad I did. It was so much fun to make. I used handmade papers and odds and ends that I had laying around. Hope you guys like it too.

Dreams aka Nightmares

I think I'm on my sixth cup of coffee and I've only been up about a hour and a half. It was not a good night. First of all we got hit yesterday afternoon with yet another New England snow storm..lots of wind and lots of snow. So around 9 o'clock last night we lost our power.

I don't mind not having lights or T.V....I can always use a flashlight or lantern to read or write in my journal. What I don't like is not having heat or water. We have 4 fireplaces but guess what?...they're electric. We have well water but guess what?....it's run by an electric pump. So no heat, no water. The power finally came back on around six A.M.

I think being so cold is what gave me nightmares. I had some of the worse nightmares I've had in a long time. I can't even describe them without getting upset. Let me just say that they were like that worst "slasher" film ever made....and I never, ever, ever watch slasher films. Horror films yes, slasher films no. They were bad.

So right now I'm just trying to shake the cobwebs out of my head and get into my studio. Maybe one more cup of coffee.

Little Houses

Hi Goddesses
Here are the little houses I promised. They are were so much fun to make. The cardboard I used was just recycled frozen food boxes. They were decorated with just scraps and left over papers and embellishments. I'll probably make a whole neighborhood of these little dwellings.

Week-end

Hi Goddesses, Hope everyone had a good week-end. Mine was uneventful. Don and I did our usually errands, bank, post office, grocery shopping....sounds like fun huh?

Then we had a nice dinner at home and watched a good movie, "Body of Lies". Good cast, good plot worth watching. For me to sit through a movie it had to be good. I am a restless spirit. I'm always jumping up to do something or get something. I just can't sit still.

I made some cute little collage houses this week-end and I'll be posting the pictures tomorrow. Till then.

Blythe Dolls

I want you to meet Sage and Aja. Sage is on the right and Aja is on the left. These two little goddesses keep me company in my studio. But right now they're keeping their eyes on the cat.

Vamp

This is my first painting on canvas. I drew the vampire on watercolor paper, colored her an cut her out. I painted the canvas with water colors and gue the little Vamp on to the backround. I also used some rubber stamps and cardboard cut-outs.

Now I just have to decide how I should seal it.

Loving Hearts

This is a journal page I did for Valentine's Day. I used watercolor and cardboard hearts and flowers. My favorite elements are the tiny birds. I stamped them onto a page from an old book which I antiqued with "Distress Ink", then i cut them out. They came out really cute.

Hi Goddesses
I'm trying this blogging thing again. I originally started it a few years ago but never really got into it.
However, lately I've started journaling and Art journaling and have found tremendous information and inspiration through all those wonderful blogs out there.
I could also feel all the love coming through in these blogs. You women are the best. There's a real sisterhood gonig on and I really would love to be a part of that family.
