Just wanted to post a journal page and a page where I was playing with stencils. I'm almost finished with my first art journal. I'm still thinking about doing an art journal with just fairies and goddesses in it, but I'm afraid I'll get bored with it. I have a very short attention span. When I cross-stitch or crochet, I always have two or three projects going at once. I also read two or three books at the same time. So...I guess the answer is to start two new art journals. Maybe I'll start a little one and a big one. Sorry.....just thinking out-loud.

Don't mind me, I live in my own little world, but it's ok, they know me here.

Just came back from a great week-end. We went up to Burlington, VT. and Lake Champlain. The weather was perfect. I stocked up on my chocolate covered gummy bears and Lake Champlain Chocolates.
I also bought this beautiful hand-made paper. It's huge....24 by 36 inches. Isn't is gorgeous ? I even pick up a lot of ephemera for journaling. The 'Welcome Stations" are a great source for that.

Hug a Friend Day

Hugs are not only nice they are needed... Hugs can relieve pain and depression.. make the healthier happier, and the most secure even more so.. Hugging feels good and overcomes fear... It provides stretching exercise to short people and stooping exercise to tall people... Hugging does not upset the environment.. It saves heat and energy... requires no special equipment.. Hugging makes happy days happier and impossible days possible. ~Unknown~

Today is 'Hug a Friend Day", so make sure you hug all those important people in your life.

Remember.....a hug is a handshake from the heart. ~Unknown

HUGS TO ALL!

Nice Weather

Didn't get much art done this week-end. Saturday was spent running errands. One of my errands was to apply for a passport.....but for some reason you now need an appointment here just to apply, so I have an appointment for today.

Sunday we went to the out-door flea market. It was so nice walking around in the sunshine. I scored a new handbag and some jewelry. I was looking for old books and magazines to use in my art journal, but didn't find much.

We stopped for lunch, then grabbed a coffee and headed home. I'm sooo glad that winter is over and spring is here.

Namaste

New books and free stuff

Hi Guys....I have to confess...I'm a Biblioholic, I LOVE BOOKS. So I just want to show you my three newest books. They're all great but I think Violette's book "Journal Bliss" is my favorite. Lots of great journaling ideas.

I don't know if you all have an Uno's restaurant near you...but if you do make sure you join the Insiders Club. All you have to do is give them your e-mail address and they send you coupons. We went there last night and we got two free appetizers, one free dinner and free dessert. I also received a "goody bag" filled with goodies and more coupons. The food was great and there was plenty of it.

Pink Moon

Tonight is the full Pink Moon....this name came from the herb moss pink, or phlox which is one of the earliest widespread flowers of spring. Other names for this month's moon is, the Full Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon, and among coastal tribes the Full Fish Moon, because this was the time that the shad swam upstream to spawn. It is also known as the Paschal moon.

We all know that every year Easter is on a different date. Well, Easter is determined by the full moon. Easter is always the first Sunday after the first full moon of spring. That's why Easter can fall at the end of March or the first part of April.

I've been reading a lot about using paper towels dipped in paints, to use in art journaling. I've been using a similar method for years and it seems to work better for me.
What I do is take my used fabric softener sheets and then rub them on different colored ink pads. Then I glue them on paint papers. I can then use them for backgrounds or cut them up for collages. Plus they smell nice!

I've posted a couple of them, plus a journal page.
Have a good day!

A Good Week

Hi All, I had a really good week. Thursday was my birthday and I received a beautiful bouquet and a box of candy from my son Michael and his family. Then Don came home three hours early from work with balloons, cake and Dunkin Donuts coffee. He gave me a gift card from A.C.Moore's craft store and when I cut the cake and started serving it, there was another gift card hidden under the cake. He then took me out to dinner at a Japanese restaurant.

I had ordered some books and a handmade journal...and they all came in the mail on my birthday.
Saturday we went out to dinner again then came home and watched a movie.
So yes....I had a great week.

Fake Journal

It's late here in New England so I'll make this short...But I was just surfing some blogs and came across this one..blog... about keeping a ''fake journal'. I think it's a great idea.
I started one tonight,I did an entry writing as my alter ego, and it was a lot of fun.

I hope you all try it...if you do, let me know what you think about it.

Good night for now.
