Halloween Book

Hi ....wow, I can't believe that it's been over a week since my last post. I went to N.J. this past weekend for two birthday parties. The drive down was beautiful, the leaves are already starting to change.
I also got hooked on making "paper bag books". These are some pictures of the Halloween book that I made and my head is swimming with so many ideas for other books. I can't believe how sturdy these books are when they're finished, and they're so much fun to make. There are lots of pockets for pictures and journaling.
Till next time, be happy and creative.

Meet Monty

I ordered this little guy from Moriah over at MLB Studios. She makes the most adorable little creatures. I just love that face!

We had a gorgeous fall week-end. We went to some flea markets and watched football. One of the flea markets had an art supply table and needless to say....I went crazy. Got some really good buys on art supplies.
I also did a lot of sketching and managed to do this painting.

Bewitching!

I was getting my Halloween decorations out and I just had to share this little witch with you. I've been collecting Marie Osmand dolls for a couple of years and she is one of my favorites. The pictures do not do her justice. Her costume is so colorful and covered with Halloween prints. The picture of her stockings and shoes came out a little blurry, but you get the idea.
I just think she is the prettiest witch around. Hope you enjoyed seeing her.

Petit Doll

This is my first Petit Doll from Suzi Blu's class. I still have to cover it with bees wax.

Here are a couple more journal pages. I'm a little behind in my journal because I'm also taking Suzi Blu's on-line class. There are several other classes that I want to take but there just aren't enough hours in the day.

Question: Do you guys love Halloween as much as I do? If you do check out The Queens of Halloween. They are hosting a blog give-a-way. Check them out here Artistic Halloween Queens.

Hope you all have a good week-end. We're heading for the Yankee Candle Factory in Massachusetts. Have to stock up on my candles. Hugs to all!

Beauty Tips

For attractive lips,
Speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes,
Seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure,
Share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair,
Let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day.
For poise,
Walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.

Mail Art

I'm sending my sister a book so I decided to decorate the envelope to make her mail a little more interesting. It was fun!

Singing Bowl

I hope everyone had a good holiday week-end. I really hate to see summer end. I forgot to post this picture earlier this summer. I've been wanting one of these bowls for a long time, and on one of week-end excursions this summer we found one and Don bought it for me.

These bowls are also known as Himalayan bowls and they are a type of bell. But instead of hanging, they sit on a cushion. When you tap on the bowl with the wooden dowel, the sides and the rim vibrate to produce a beautiful sound.
I'm very big on yoga and meditation, so this will be well used. The beautiful purple box that it came in was handmade out of Lokata paper by the monks in Nepal. I love collecting exotic things. This will join my crystal ball and my Voodoo drum.

Thanks Darrah and Connie.....you girls ROCK!!!

The Color of Light

Hi all....I've been spending the last few days catching up on my reading. I just finished a great book by Karen White, called the "Color of Light". The ending was so emotional, I'm still saying "WOW".
She has several more books out and I plan to get everyone of them. Her characters are so alive, they become like friends. Very easy reading, lots of dialogue. Check her out, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I posted a few more journal pages, one from Aug. and two from my Sept journal.
My Sept. journal is going to have a theme....I'm calling it "Gothic Shabby Chic". LOL.
Have a creative day!
